Description:
The adoption of the new “Evaluation and Management” Codes can effectively be used to code low vision services. Under the new guidelines, outpatient office visits can coded using either “medical decision making” or “time”. This requires providers who provide low vision services to have a thorough knowledge of appropriate and accurate coding.This course will review the lessons learned from the new definitions of “E & M.” In order to survive audits, guidelines for the proper documentation of medical records will be discussed. Case examples will be utilized to highlight these important changes.
